The DEVI School in Mill Village, Nova Scotia, is seeking Dorm Staff (Dorm Aunties or Uncles) for the 2025/2026 academic year. These live-in caregivers serve as the heart of the school community, supporting and nurturing students outside of school hours and on weekends.

About the Role

Dorm Staff are loving, stable, and joyful yogis or yoginis who provide day-to-day care and guidance to over 60 students aged 10 to 18. In this special role, you’ll essentially “stand in” for the students’ parents, creating a supportive, vibrationally rich environment in which children can thrive.

Key Qualities

  • Energetic, in good physical and mental health
  • Patient, nurturing, other-centered, and generous
  • Good sense of humor and strong love for tweens and teens
  • Committed to Sahaj life and collective living

Responsibilities Include

  • Overall vibrational care and support (e.g., leading meditations or treatments)
  • Enforcing dorm routines, including chores, hygiene, and tidiness
  • Supporting students with homework and accompanying them on outings
  • Providing emotional, vibrational, and basic health care support
  • Frequent communication with the Head of School and Principal
  • Light housecleaning, laundry, and kitchen duties
  • Living in the dorm and sharing life with the students

Note: Dorm Staff receive one day and night off per week and must be deeply comfortable with collective living.

This role is ideal for a mature, grounded Sahaja yogi or yogini with a strong sense of duty and a heart for service.

The DEVI School in Mill Village, Nova Scotia, is seeking enthusiastic Kitchen Help to support the daily preparation and service of healthy meals in a vibrant boarding school environment.

About the Role

This is a collaborative and service-oriented role within the school’s kitchen team. We’re looking for individuals who are passionate about healthy cooking and are willing to assist in various tasks, including food preparation, meal service, cleaning, and general kitchen maintenance.

This position is ideal for Sahaj yogis or yoginis who enjoy working in a collective environment, have a strong work ethic, and a heart for nurturing others through food.

Key Responsibilities May Include

  • Supporting the creation and preparation of balanced, nutritious meals
  • Helping to maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen
  • Assisting with inventory management and food storage
  • Participating in kitchen setup, service, and clean-up
  • Supporting menu planning and food sourcing as needed
  • Operating and maintaining kitchen equipment (training provided)

Key Qualities

  • Some experience in cooking for large groups or events
  • A good understanding of a healthy, balanced diet
  • Ability to work calmly and efficiently in high-pressure situations
  • Comfort with using kitchen equipment safely and confidently
  • Good communication and a humble, team-focused attitude
  • Organized, flexible, and willing to learn
